Who We Are
Humble Beginnings
Our roots date to 1930 when E.C. Boyles settled in Elkin, NC as an agent for Standard Oil Company (now ExxonMobil). Under continued family leadership, this single man operation has grown into a market leader in the propane industry and delivered fuels business. We serve over 30,000 customers from 9 delivery and service centers in the Piedmont and Western regions of NC and Southwest Virginia. With a staff of professional drivers and safety trained service technicians, we take pride in offering our customers responsive, competent and excellent service.

Our service areas include: Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Caldwell, Davie, Forsyth, Henderson, Iredell, Madison, Stokes, Surry, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes, Yadkin, and Yancey counties in North Carolina.
Portions of Catawba, Davidson, Guilford, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Mitchell, Polk, Rowan counties of North Carolina, and Carroll, Grayson, and Patrick counties in Virginia.
Our Services
Delivered Fuels
We provide reliable delivery of propane, heating oil, diesel fuel-highway and off road, kerosene and gasoline. Please note: Not all locations deliver every fuel. See chart below for more information.
Automatic & Will Call Deliveries
At G&B Energy, you have the option to choose from either automatic deliveries or will call deliveries. Most customers enjoy the benefit of automatic delivery service. Automatic deliveries are contingent on approved credit and prompt payments within credit terms.
- Automatic Delivery – Our computerized system accurately projects your next delivery based upon your past usage and daily outdoor temperatures. Propane customers participating in this program receive discounted per gallon pricing.
- Will Call Delivery – Only occur at the customer’s request. We recommend ordering fuel 5 business days before depleting your supply.
- Tank Monitoring – This service is available for all G&B Energy customers. This service will allow G&B to make efficient deliveries to you, SAVING YOU MONEY on delivery fees. *New Customers are eligible for this service for FREE for one year. Restrictions apply.
Service & Repairs
What sets us apart? A robust, in house, service department, staffed with local technicians, trained to repair the products we sell. Our technicians can diagnose, troubleshoot, and often repair in one trip. Our team strives to make all repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to limit your inconveniences.
Installation
We offer products and services to make your life easier. Whether you need an endless supply of hot water, an upgraded fireplace that works when the power is out or a gas line to a new range for culinary excellence, our trained technicians can handle the entire job from start to finish.
Our Showrooms
A highlight of every location is a full stocked Hearth & Grill Shop with working displays. We offer the latest fireplaces, stoves, heaters, tankless water heaters, fire pits, grills and outdoor heaters. We are continuously updating displays and product offerings to ensure customers have access to the latest hearth and grill technologies.
Customer Portal
Our customer portal allows customer access with ease! You can view energy usage, pay bills, request service and delivery and track your account history all in one place.
Account Registration
In order to claim your customer portal account, complete the online registration by providing your name, phone number, email address and account number. Your phone number must match the number we have on file. To locate your account number, check your latest statement or invoice, or call your local G&B Energy to get that information.
