Vent-free wall heaters come in two styles: blue flame and infrared. Blue flame heaters are convection style heaters that heat the air in the room first, giving you a warm space. Infrared heaters, on the other hand, are radiant style heaters that heat objects in the room. The heat of infrared is similar to the warmth felt by the sun’s rays. Infrared units work best when placed in basements and sunrooms.
These types of heaters best function as a supplemental heat source, not a primary source of heat. They cannot be installed in bedrooms.
