Foothills Arts Council Fundraiser [2006]

ELKIN, N.C. – The Foothills Arts Council plans a concert and photography exhibit this Saturday December 9, at eight pm at their gallery at 129 Church St. The fundraiser, sponsored by G&B Energy, will feature the photographs and acoustic music of Grammy award winning recording artist Al Petteway and his wife Amy White.

Petteway and White are residents of Asheville. Their sound is a unique blend of original, traditional, contemporary Celtic and Appalachian influenced music. Their repertoire offers extensive instrumental work as well as a fine touch of vocals. Saturday’s show will be a musical tribute to winter’s majesty and will feature holiday classics, original, Celtic-inspired and traditional mountain melodies.

“The Arts Council is thrilled to have such an accomplished duo visiting Elkin. We are also proud to partner with G&B Energy to provide quality music and promote the arts in the Yadkin Valley area,” said Bill Colvard, program director of the Foothills Arts Council.

As an added bonus the Brushy Mountain Winery will be present allowing concert goers the chance to taste and purchase their latest wines.

A six o’clock show could be added if the eight o’clock show is a sell out. For that reason tickets will only be sold in advance and will not be available at the door. Tickets for the event are $15 and are available at The Foothills Arts Council or G&B Energy. All money raised from ticket sales will benefit the Foothills Arts Council.
