Propane is an excellent home heating fuelPropane is a safe and widely-used fuel. Millions of Americans use propane for its efficiency. For example, it takes less propane energy than electricity to run the same appliance. As a result, it emits less than half the greenhouse gas emissions of electricity. Propane also exceeds the requirements for clean fuel regulations. Since propane is released as a gas, it does not spill, pool or leave a residue. Propane is also harmless to soil or water if a tank were to leak. This is because it is nontoxic and is insoluble in water.

Propane is a clean burning, efficient and a reliable fuel for your home, farm or business. As a result, it can be used to cook, heat, dry clothes, burn weeds, heat water, grill and power your home.

On farms, propane-fueled equipment controls pests, dries crops, and powers irrigation pumps. Millions of commercial establishments, including restaurants and hotels, depend on propane for heating, cooking, and other uses.
