|On Thursday, September 6, 2012, G & B Energy, in partnership with Wachovia Bank, will host its Third “Irons in the Fire” Golf and Social benefiting the Yadkin Valley United Fund. This will be the third year of the tournament under the “Irons in the Fire” Golf and Social banner and the 19th year G&B Energy has hosted a charity golf turnament. This offers a more relaxed and enjoyable tournament .|
The tournament held at Cedarbrook Country Club in Elkin, N.C., will be a FOUR-MANcaptain’s choice format with a 12 noon shotgun start. Fresh grilled food and cold beverage selections will be available at numerous locations on the course, featuring beer-boiled shrimp, hot dogs with all the fixings, chicken wings, smoked sausages, pork barbeque and roast beef. Players will also receive a $10.00 clubhouse bar credit. Each player will be entered into a drawing featuring numerous prizes including several gas grills and a grand prize of $1,000 cash.
I am writing to ask for your support and to invite you to enter a team in the tournament. It is only through your kind contribution and participation that we can make this year’s tournament successful. Over the past the seventeen-years, your generous support has enabled us to raise over $345,000 for the Yadkin Valley United Fund and MDA.
We hope you will be able to enter one or more teams in the tournament and have links to an entry form for your completion. You should be entitled to a charitable contribution deduction for a portion of the entry fee.
Unlike previous years, there is a single tee time limiting the field to 30 teams. Please return your completed entry form and payment as soon as possible to insure that you don’t miss out on this year’s festivities. Paid entries will be honored on a first-come basis. The entry fee this year includes 1 Mulligan, Skins game entry, a chance to win several grills and $1,000 cash. Only registered players are eligible for the prize drawings.
We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you on September 6, 2012 for a fun-filled day of golf, food and fellowship at Cedarbrook Country Club.
